Who Are We

Apna Vanprastha Ashram

Operated by Shri Vinod-Girija Foundation
"Where there is service, there lies true religion."

Apna Vanprastha Ashram is a selfless initiative dedicated to compassionate service. It was founded in June 2023 by Shri Vivek Chaturvedi and Smt. Sadhana Chaturvedi, in the blessed memory of their revered parents — Shri Vinod Chaturvedi and Smt. Girija Chaturvedi.

The Ashram is located in Alam Nagar village, near Brajghat in Uttar Pradesh, about 70 kilometers from Ghaziabad and just 3 kilometers from the holy river Ganga.

The inspiration for this noble mission came directly from Thakurji (Lord Krishna). In a divine dream, Shri Vivek Chaturvedi received a message:

“You did not get the chance to serve your parents — now, join Me in serving the helpless elderly, as if they were your own.”

Accepting this divine message as his life’s purpose, the sacred journey of Apna Vanprastha Ashram began.

This Ashram is dedicated to elderly individuals who, for various reasons, have been left alone. Our goal is to provide them with a safe, dignified, and family-like environment, where they can receive free accommodation, nutrition, medical care, and most importantly — respect and a sense of belonging, without any financial burden.

Apna Vanprastha Ashram is not merely a service center — it is a living space filled with compassion, warmth, and spirituality, where every elder is seen as a divine embodiment of God.

The Ashram runs with the blessings of Thakurji and the heartfelt support of people like you. Every contributor, every person with a spirit of service, is an essential part of this noble mission.

Our Purpose: To reach every elderly person who needs a family today.

Our Belief: “Service is God. Service is true devotion.”

This ashram functions on the following premises:

1. Residence and Security:
Every elderly individual who comes here is provided with completely free accommodation in a safe, clean, and peaceful environment filled with a sense of belonging. The ashram premises have been developed in such a way that each resident feels at home.

2. Nutrition and Meals:
Residents are served balanced, nutritious, and sattvic (pure and wholesome) meals with respect and dignity. Special care is taken to ensure emotional satisfaction along with the food, so they feel the love and warmth of a family.

3. Health and Medical Care:
Regular health check-ups are conducted for every elderly resident. As needed, medical treatment, medications, and special healthcare services are provided. Support from local hospitals and specialist doctors is also ensured for the treatment of serious illnesses.

4. Warm Environment and Mental Well-being:
This ashram is not only a center for physical care but also for emotional and spiritual support. To ensure peace, balance, and joy of mind for the residents, regular sessions of satsang (spiritual discourse), bhajans (devotional songs), meditation, and group discourses are organized.

5. Opportunities for Service:
Every individual with a spirit of selfless service is given the opportunity to serve at the ashram—whether by serving meals, spending time with the residents, offering administrative support, or simply providing love and companionship.

6. Transparency and Participation:
The ashram maintains complete transparency in all its activities. Every contributor feels like an active and respected participant in this noble endeavor.

7. Operated by the Grace of Thakur Ji:
The entire functioning of the ashram is guided and blessed by Thakur Ji, and supported by the selfless contributions of the community. This place of service is a living confluence of devotion to God, humanity, and spiritual upliftment.

What We Do

Vanprastha Ashram
(Operated by S.V.G. Foundation) "Where elderly mothers and respected elders are never alone..."

When the evening of life begins to set in,
and loved ones feel like strangers...
When the eyes search for someone, but no one is in sight...
That’s when Vanprastha Ashram emerges as a beacon of hope.

This ashram is for those mothers and elders
who have spent their entire lives caring for others,
but today find themselves alone—
with no one to ask about them,
and no one to lean on.

Here, we respectfully address them as ‘Prabhuji’—
because we believe that every elder carries a divine presence within them.

Here, we offer—
a peaceful shelter,
loving companions to hold hands like a mother would,
an environment that brings not tears, but comfort to their eyes,
and the respect they always deserved throughout their lives.

Here, medicine is given—
but first comes a prayer.
Food is served—
but first comes motherly love.
A bed is provided—
but first comes the comfort of care and shelter.

We don’t want any elder on this earth to say:
“What is left to live for now...”
We want them to say:
“Thank God, there is someone who still sees us as their own.”

Vanprastha Ashram is not just a building—it is an emotion.
A promise—that no mother or elder will have to live alone anymore.

How We Work

Staff and Volunteers

At our Vanprastha Ashram, all arrangements—from the arrival of our respected guests to their stay—are smoothly managed with the help of our dedicated and hardworking staff and volunteers. For every five residents (Prabhujis), one caregiver is available 24/7 to lovingly and faithfully attend to their needs.

Medical Facilities

(Apna Vanprastha Ashram, Operated by S.V.G. Foundation)

Most of our residents (Prabhujis) suffer from various physical or mental health conditions, making medical care one of the most essential services at our ashram.

Regular visits by general physicians, physiotherapists, and dental surgeons are arranged to ensure timely health check-ups and necessary treatments for the residents.

In special situations, such as serious illnesses or emergencies, we collaborate with nearby hospitals to provide appropriate medical care.

Our constant effort is to ensure that every Prabhuji receives timely and respectful medical attention, so that their life remains safe, comfortable, and dignified.

Food and Nutrition

Most of the residents (Prabhujis) who come to Vanprastha Ashram are either unwell or suffering from malnutrition. Therefore, providing them with proper and balanced nutrition is essential and of utmost importance for their recovery and well-being.

At the ashram, Prabhujis are served breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner, along with fruits, milk, and protein supplements to ensure their bodies receive the necessary nourishment.

General Body Executive / Office

Vanprastha Ashram is a service-oriented institution operated by the S.V.G. Foundation, with its headquarters located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The ashram is managed in alignment with the principles and objectives of the foundation, which prioritize spiritual upliftment, selfless service, and social welfare.

Our Vision and Operational Model

"Every soul is divine, and serving it is the highest duty."

Whenever a respected elder comes to our attention—whether through our caregivers, social media, or other sources—we respectfully invite them to our headquarters in Ghaziabad. Upon arrival, a medical examination is conducted to assess their health condition. Thereafter, they are lovingly sent to the most suitable facility for them Vanprastha Ashram.

At the ashram, they live among fellow brothers and sisters in an environment filled with love, care, and service. Gradually, they begin to leave behind the sorrows of their past and spend their days in peace, affection, and contentment.

Meal Schedule (for Prabhujis):
Morning Breakfast – 7:30 AM
Lunch – 11:30 AM
Afternoon Tea/Snacks – 3:00 PM
Dinner – 6:30 PM

We believe that every soul deserves a childhood and old age that is free from worry, filled with love, and lived with dignity.
Our efforts are not limited to caring for their physical needs—we strive to bring new life to their mind, soul, and spirit as well.
Vanprastha Ashram is not just a place; it is a sanctuary of love, service, and refuge, where every abandoned soul finds new life, new hope, and renewed strength.
